There's something so beautiful about a secret. It can make or break the best of any relationship. Hogwarts is one huge secret in itself. Just think, wizards have been learning magic for years without very much notice from the muggle world at all. Sure, there is the occasional witch hunt, but that's to be expected. In the meanwhile, a new mystery brews behind the walls of these anciently amazing castle walls. What sorts of mysteries are good and bad? Only you can tell for yourself...
-------------
What doesn't the Wizarding World's "golden boy" know about his wildly red-headed girlfriend? Who are the pale students who never eat and avoid sunlight like the plague? Where is the "furry" student heading with his life and why does it seem like his new girlfriend is hiding everything and more? How much drama can magic really conjure up? Every second brings something new.
Maybe it's Remus Lupin and his new WIFE Kyndrick [Laurent] Lupin. Maybe it's the newly engaged James Potter and Lily Evans still learning to cut Severus Snape out of their lives for good. Maybe it's the growth that hit Sirius Black as soon as his girlfriend, Emmeline Vance was sent to St. Mungo's after a tragic and scarring event. Maybe it's time for our favorite marauders to grow and learn. Maybe it's time to dig deeper into the world of magical beings, love, life, and magic. Will digging deeper solve our mysteries? Or will it only create more mystery for us to figure out?
One event after another, people are changing, lives are being sacrificed, lost, and found. People are literally fighting a war out there and whether or not they'll come out in better or worse condition isn't something that can be easily predicted.
Will you get caught up in the magic? This is a time of something new, something different, something amazing. Will you get caught up in a marauding mystery? Or will you sit aside and let the magic pass you by.
CHARACTER TEASERS!
Note from the admin;; Hey guys. I know you're reading this ad and wondering what makes Marauding Mysteries different from any other Harry Potter role-play. What makes it different from any other Marauding Era role-play? Well, at Marauding Mysteries, we're not just making characters and having a load of fun, we're also building our own little family. I mean, look at our staff. There's me, Tippy. I'm a fairly outgoing person and I'm willing to do pretty much anything to improve the site. There's Lizzy, our organizational genius. She helps really keep this place going. She's also one of my long-time friends. I've been pen-pals with her for quite a while now. And never ever forget Iris! She's one of the sweetest, funniest people I know and she'll jump on the welcoming committee as soon as you lay your name down on the c-box. We've also got Leah, a girl who plays Severus Snape better than anyone else I know. Our staff alone will make you love this place. Wait till you meet the other members.
If you ask for a thread in the c-box, you'll quickly find someone either willing to start or reply fast. Plots are something we pride ourselves on here. There isn't a moment that isn't event-filled. This place is a screaming invitation for creative juices to flow and be inspired the heck out of. I myself am an author who is about to get her first book published. This place is a breeding ground for great writers who love Harry Potter to band together and have some serious fun. Even if you're new, we're here to turn beginning role-players into intermediate or advanced ones. Marauding Mysteries is here to change your idea of the basic Harry Potter RPG. Marauding Mysteries is here to revolutionize the philosophy that comes with building a site. The following excerpt is our "site philosophy." I hope you enjoy and appreciate it. It's what Marauding is built and based off of.
A lot of thought was put into the concept of posting up a site philosophy. It began with a conversation between myself (the site creator), a staff member, and a site member. The discussion was about how members should feel at home here. Marauding Mysteries is a home for everyone. This is the point we'd like to put across to anyone thinking of joining or just browsing for fun.
Some administrators look at a site and claim that it belongs to them. It's their site and they made it. At Marauding Mysteries however, it's everyone's site. This site doesn't belong to me, the creator. It doesn't belong to my fellow administrators who keep everything running. It doesn't belong to my moderators who update applications and keep members from spamming everywhere. It doesn't even just belong to the members who keep activity boosted and plots rolling. Marauding Mysteries belongs to everyone combined. It's home to all of those people, but not just those people singularly.
Marauding Mysteries is not just home to people who want to play Hogwarts students or professors. It is home to the house wife who merely keeps her home clean and watches over her family. It's home to the busy, hard-working Wizarding father who lives to manage his job at the Ministry of Magic. It's home to the striving St. Mungo's healers who save lives every day as it passes. It's home to the ghosts of Hogwarts and every other haunted building around. It's home to the muggle families who are oblivious to the magic surrounding them. It's home to the nine-year-old witch who's dying to go to school a year or two early, but knows she can't. It's home to the house elves who work in the kitchens, the centaurs who read the stars in the forest, and the goblins slaving away in the vaults of Gringott's. Marauding Mysteries isn't just for me, it's not just for you, it's for everyone.
Even guests share in the wonders or our site. This place is not made up of only the magic that comes with the brilliant imaginations of our passersby, but also of the magic that comes with community. This is your new family, your new friends. Embrace it and feel at home because that's all Marauding Mysteries really is, a home for everyone.
As you can see, we put a load of thought into how we want to run this site. We want you to feel as welcome here as possible. We don't just role-play in Hogwarts, we do the entire Wizarding World. I myself play an adult character who happens to be a young adult striving in magical society as a rising journalist for The Daily Prophet. We really bring this world to life.
As a little bonus, we also have several plot twists. There's an entire Twilight twist that a lot of people have taken interest in. There's also a One Tree Hill plot and a half-finished and upcoming OC plot on its way. This place isn't just Harry Potter.
So, there's my reasoning for you to join the site. I don't know if you're interested. I just had to put something different up for our advertisement. I'm so tired of reading the same old plot written a thousand different ways. Let's try something new, something fun, let's try Marauding Mysteries.
