&& serenity is in the air.
Serenity walked up the stairs in the circular tower with her wand cast with lumos to find her way around the darkness. Her Gryffindor cloak on to make it easier to sneak out of hogwarts. She reached up the foot of the staircase and sat down on a bench and summoned her art book, hopefully the prefects outside wouldn't find it floating on the way to her. Lighting up the candles in the room with a simple fire spell and taking her quill out from her pocket and started looking out on the starry night scenery to give an idea of a drawing. As soon as her art book was on her lap she started to draw on a random page.
The night seemed to be so calm and warm, it was truly one of the marvelous nights she loved. Without distraction she drew the deep blue sky and made little dots on it for the stars and right in the middle, she drew a crescent moon. That was all she needed to make a perfect scenery. She sighed as if she was in love, she couldn't wait to show it to her friends.
Serenity stood up, leaving the art book and quill behind her and walked to the eastern window, looking down to the lake. The water didn't even move, it was perfectly still like glass. The air smelled floral to her, and smiled to herself, this night just couldn't get any better. She twirled her hair with her fingers as she went deep in thought, it'd be sad if she met someone she hated right and knowing Serenity, she would do anything to prevent that from happening.

Severus had spent his entire evening in the observitory. He knew it was threateningly close to the Gryffindor room, due to previous conversations with Lily, but he couldn't help himself. So tonight, he snuck away from the cauldron to view the stars from the teloscope.
It bothered him somewhat that someone as logical as he was doing something so trivial. Really, he should be studying for his N.E.W.T.S. now, and yet he was stargazing. Divination was a class for those who feel the need to learn something of no worth. After all, it didn't matter if saturn was in line with it's second moon , or whatever. Things happen in an instance, and the fates didn't have anything to do with it. You make a mistake, you deal with it. Snape hated that the prestigious school of Hogwarts taught a subject that was basically cheap parlor tricks.
Then why, pray tell, was the Slytherin so intrigued by the stars? He himself wasn't certain, although he had a guess. At a younger, simpler time in his life, he and Lily would have picnics under the starlit summer sky, pointing out the many constellations to each other, and wondering how someone came to actually document them, and other things children of great intellect and curiousity might discuss.
Oh great, he was beginning to think of her again. Then again, was there a time that passed when the girl wasn't in his thoughts? Yes, but that time was short-lived, and something else would show up, and remind the boy of what was, what could have been, and what never would be again. She had James now, and that was that.
A clicking of shoes on the cobblestone made him realize he wasn't alone. He removed his gaze from the magnifying device, and saw the familiar dark head of hair. Serenity Faywood. And to think, that this had been a pleasant evening. "What are you doing here?" he said with as much anger as he could, which wasn't much, due to the fact that an image of Lily was still swirling 'round his head.

Sadly the perfect night was going to last, she should have expected it. Of course a Slytherin was going to come in the scene and start a fuss. Taking in the last glimpse of darkness stretched out across the sky, Serenity turned around and facing a familiar face. Severus Snape, she was at least thankful it wasn't Bellatrix. At least he wasn't so bad as her. Still she gulped, having no idea of why he would be here and she knew she had to reply to him, either that or take out her wand and have a duel. But why was she so frightened of the thought of dueling him, she has done so many times with other Slytherins... just not with him, Serenity didn't know him when it came to dueling. Finally she decided to reply to him.
"Do you really think that I would tell you why I am here?" She had ran out of words to say. What happened to her usual self? Serenity had always teased Severus when she could. Serenity wanted to think of something to say, and finally the life long question she had always wanted to ask had popped up in her head. It made her wonder, would he answer her question? "Alright Severus, lets make a deal, I'll answer your question and you answer mine. If you must really know I was up here just to look at the pretty evening. Simple as that. Now answer mine, what in the world is your problem with me? I have never done anything to you until you were acting as if I have actually done something to you. And don't say it's because your a Slytherin and Im a Gryffindor, just give me a good reason." Serenity knew she was horrible at this, she didn't even add a threat in for him and worst of all it sounded cheesy. Like what muggles try and do to stand up to a bully, which almost never worked in her opinion. All she had to do was listen to him now.
OOC: Sorry it's really short and you may find some mistakes in there, Im just kinda tired today. XP
