Once upon a time in the magical school of Hogwarts, there existed three students. There was the sweet red-head, Lily Evans, the arrogant ringleader, James Potter, and the quiet potions master, Severus Snape.
Now, like most fairy tales, Lily was the princess of Hogwarts [in theory anyway]. Her prince happened to be James Potter himself. But let's not jump to conclusions. Severus is not our villain. No, he's her half-prince. See, Severus and Lily have known each other since they were but small children. They have always been best friends.
It tore Sev up quite a bit to see his best friend start dating his enemy. He'd always loved Lily after all. James had no idea the attachment existing between Snape and Evans. So, when Severus and Lily became friends again, it was very secretive.
The two started to hang out more and more until the Yule Ball came around. That night, things changed for the two of them completely.
James and Lily had a fight and Lily ran off to a secret sanctuary in the Astronomy Tower. Severus followed after her, naturally. Instead of comforting her with just words, more happened. That night, another student followed the two though.
Lucius Malfoy had wandered up to the Astronomy Tower only to catch Severus and Lily in the act. One kiss was all he needed to blackmail his house-mate, Severus. Lily had no idea that Lucius knew about her and Severus. This complicated matters immensely and Lucius used this knowledge as a tool to tease Severus.
The relationship was not jeopardized though. No, the two only became more secretive, never letting James find out about them. Lily led two lives. Well, she did up until the night that her best friend spotted Lily and Severus kissing by the lake. Serenity Faywood was shocked and talked Lily into breaking things off. So, Lily ended the relationship. On the downside, Bellatrix Black also spotted the couple kissing. She then leaked the little scene to the Hogwarts rumor list. James Potter found out the day after the entire breakup occurred. Severus was painted out at this greasy thing and Lily denied the relationship ever occurring.
So there you have it. Who will James believe? How will the fairy tale end? Will the prince get his princess or will she take back the one she loved? |
