It was rainy and cold outside, sure young Serenity Faywood loved rain, but not with the mixture of coldness. There was also one other thing she did not like and that would be boredom. And precisly after having lunch she snuck off into one of the seven secret passages, she didn't have to use the her four friend's marauders map to find this one. In fact boredom was how she found it and all by leaning on the wall in one of the corridors that the fourth floor had to have. And that's what she did right now, watching for anyone passing by and leaning on the wall, when the corridor was completely empty, the wall turned and pushed Serenity onto the floor in the other side. The secret passageway.
"Ow!" Serenity screamed as she landed on the floor. I've always hated that wall... she continued in her thoughts. She felt warmth sneak up on her, even though it was empty and used rarely the candles still floated about on one side, lighting the sad darkness away. Serenity stood up and brushed the dust off her jeans and her special red and yellow gryffindor turtle neck. And then checking if her sided braids were still ok. Once she made sure everythiong was alright, Serenity proceeded down the passage way and smiling at the potraits talking to each other. No, it wasn't the empty after all.
OOC: Sorry it's short. =(

(that's okay, most of mine are short. ^_^)
Lucius limped quietly along the secret passageway, swearing under his breath as he did so. He'd been up in the owlery sending off a renewal to the Daily Prophet when the thunder and lightning scared the owls, making them fly all over and block Lucius view. At the end of it all he found himself lying at the bottom of the ladder with a terrible pain in his leg. Upon further inspection, he'd discovered that his leg was broken and he started making his way to the hospital wing on the third floor.
Another bolt of pain shot up his leg as he accidentally put pressure on it. Stopping, he leaned against the dusty stone wall and took some deep breaths. Suddenly he heard something farther along down the passageway. 'Please,' he thought, 'don't be Peeves. Not now.' Lucius squinted in the darkness but saw no one. "Whose there?" he called.

It was not long before her thoughts got disturbed by someone, and a slight shiver went up her spine. Oh please don't be a slytherin, not now... and she kept on saying that in her mind while she was speaking, "Come closer and we'll both find out who we are, im not going to harm you anyways..." Her voice was steady, not showing any fear or happiness, she didn't want to anyways, now was definatly not the the time to show anything to anonymous, but she had this feeling this unknown person was a slytherin and hated slytherins, a lot.
Serenity reached for her wand which was already out of her jean pocket and being held by her hand now, and just in case she hid her hand behind her back in case he is a slytherin and he would attack her. Serenity breathed heavily, she had enough bad things happen for one morning so why more? Why now? That was always the question for almost every day of her life. Serenity is her own death trap. Serenity is a danger magnet.

' Please be a Slytherin.' Lucius scowled as he tried to stand properly and felt himself teetering. Finally, as he tried to take a step forward, he fell on his good leg. Thankfully it wasn't nearly as bad as his first fall that morning. He groaned, getting into a sitting position and leaning once again against the wall. "I can't go anywhere. I'm injured." It was hard to admit, but very true. And the worst part of it all was that he had left his wand in his dorm room, not thinking there any danger in sending a letter. Well, he'd never make that mistake again. "You've got to help me," he called desperately. "My leg's broken and I can't stand up!" (okay, now that's a short post. sorry)

Oh great, I know im going to regret this. Why am I even doing this? That could be a Slytherin! A slytherin, for Godric's sake! "Alright im coming to help you, I wouldn't know how you can get injured here though... except for that wall..." Her wand was tucked back in her jean's pocket again. She walked at a quick pace, Serenity just wanted to know who it was and get it over with. The potraits were staring at her in confusion as she walked each step, probably by her nervous and a little frightend expression on her face. Not like she can hide it, not in this type of situation.
Serenity could help but gulp as she made a stop, right before her feet was a slytherin, a slytherin that she had saw and heard of before. This is definatly not my day... "Ok you're Lucius then, im Serenity and I can help you, except how can I trust you? As I don't trust Slytherins and it will take me a lot to trust one, so this better be good..."

Lucius stopped himself from growling at the little Gryffindor before him, reminding himself that she was the only thing keeping him from dying a long, painful and probably boring death with only these portraits to keep him company. Instead he glared up at her, listening half-heartedly as another bolt of pain got his immediate attention. "I'm injured and you want me to give you a reason to help me?!" Curse his father for giving him the Malfoy name, it had never helped much, except perhaps when trying to get into a restaurant quick.
"Look, you can do a spell to check if I'm armed. Go ahead. You'll see that I'm not as I left my wand in my dorm room. For your information I fell down the owlery ladder and hand to limp all the way here," Lucius stopped to see if this was making any difference in the girl's attitude, he couldn't tell. 'Ruddy Gryffindors.' "Now, you can either go for help or leave me here to die. I don't care either way, but make up your mind soon so I can have some peace and quiet." He wasn't about to add that he would probably prefer the company right now, being unarmed in this dark and drafty passageway, even if it was the company of a Gryffindor.

Serenity couldn't help but laugh, Fell down the owlery huh? Serves him right, ruddy Slytherin, that is no way to act to a person who might help you."Fine, fine, don't be so feisty geez, you never know with Slytherins when it comes to Gryffindors. I might as well send one of the portraits to send some help from the hospital wing.... that won't work it's a secret passegway. Ok... well... any ideas how i'm going to get you out of here at least?" Serenity leaned on the wall opposite her and thought hard. " I might as well put a levitation charm on you and tell the portraits get help and get the people to meet you outside of this passage, because I am not going to carry you."
Thoughts formed in her mind, I wonder what Hayden is doing right now. I wish I could be with him instead of being with Lucius right now.... Serenity missed him, a lot and she didn't even see him for a day already. Serenity eyed Lucius, he was just plain boring and idiotic and mean in her opinion, Slytherins were just the same in her opinion, clones.

Lucius shook his head as he listened to Serenity. Of all people who could have come through this passageway during the middle of the day, why did it have to be a Gryffindor? Why did have to be this Gryffindor? "Any decent witch would first put a pain-killing charm on my leg. That's not beyond your capabilities, is it, girly?" Lucius said crossly. it was hard enough having to be stuck here with Serenity, but it would be a lot easier if he didn't have to deal with the pain.
"And as for your brilliant master plan, why don't you just send for the healers and create a splint for me. That way I can hobble into the hallway by myself, and you can be on your merry little way to do ... whatever it is you annoying people do." He knew he probably shouldn't anger the girl, but what harm could she do to him? She was Gryffindor. Brave, not necessarily stupid. To attack an injured and defenseless Malfoy would be suicide and any imbecile knew it.

Hearing Lucius just made Serenity's eyes roll at him and say, "well don't you need a cheering charm. It's not like I have met a injured person everyday say so im not used to it." Suddenly Serenity had a better plan, a way better plan, she took her wand and pointed at both legs of Lucius's. "Episkey! There.... a better charm, it heals things more quickly then a potion does, honestly I don't know why Madam Pomfrey had to give you a cast. So don't you call me some stupid old witch." Stupid Slytherin. Be thankful you're alive. Serenity glared at him and stuck her wand back. "So what do you plan on doing now Malfoy? I know you're going to hate being with me and so do I and I am not leaving here. And you do need your cast removed... I can cut it if you want, don't know why I am being nice today."
Once again she took out her wand and pointed at his cast this time. "Sectumsempra!" She said the spell in a rather loud voice, and his cast was cut in half. Serenity sighed at stared to see his next movement. This was actually the first she had even helped someone like him and she hated it a lot, instead she would have left him there to die for. Yet Serenity didn't she had to be kind today.

He wasn't sure what to say. Serenity had definitely proved him wrong, this was true, but he sure as hell wasn't about to admit that to her. At least, not while he was still sitting helplessly on the floor of some old abandoned passageway that nobody ever went through anymore. Slowly, he began to stand up, clearing his throat as he did but it came out as more of a growl. Once he was standing and had made sure that he looked at least half-way decent, he turned to face Serenity.
"I never called you stupid. Annoying, yes. But not stupid," he said carefully. Lucius was still very aware of the fact that she was armed and he was not, but he couldn't resist the chance to insult her. "I suppose I do owe you a thank you ... although I'm sure I could have done just as well on my own. But, thank you. I'm sure this will make quite a story for you to tell all your little friends, eh? Of course, I'll deny everything."

A small smile was on her face, and that was so unlikely with her that she felt Lucius should be more thankful then that, but why would he care? "I suppose I am annoying with Slytherins, so im not going to say you're wrong about that." It was true and yet she liked annoying Slytherins just to get on their nerves and duel them from time to time. Or as a matter of fact she could be annoying to anyone she hates, it was just Serenity. "Oh and im not going to tell this to anyone. It's just unlike me to help any Slytherin and plus I really don't care if I say it or not. Oh and if you say you could have done just as well on your own then how come you didn't think of it in the first place Malfoy?" A slight smirk went on her face. Oh how she loved fooling Slytherins a lot.
Serenity began to wonder, if Hayden was with her, how would she act to a Slytherin? She knew she'd be pretty rude, but Rosalie, his sister was a Slytherin as well. Would Hayden hate Serenity if she would act rude to he his sister. It was a scary thought but she was rude to Rose a lot of times and Hayden was there too, then again it's hard to know he is thinking.

She had him there and they both knew it. He smirked, thinking of all the things he could do to this girl if only he had his wand. Instead of answering her question, Lucius looked down both sides of the corridor. With the distraction of his leg and his quarreling with Serenity, he'd forgot to pay attention to which way he was walking. 'Idiot,' he thought, looking at the portraits around them for some clue. He found none. Looking at his watch, he noted that it was nearing two. He'd promised to meet some of his friends in the library at two-thirty to help them with their history of magic essays.
'There are two ways out of this situation. One: go in one direction only to discover you took that wrong path and are now on the complete opposite side of the castle than where you need to be. Or two: ask Serenity to help you.' It pained Lucius to admit that he needed help finding his way around the castle. Especially to her. But he really hated wasting time wandering around. "Do you know which direction I came in here?" he asked quietly.

Laughing was probably going to annoy Lucius even more but fact is Serenity just couldn't help it. She knew Slytherins were dumb in her thought but she never knew they could be dumbfounded so easily, the least they could do was make up a story or something. And so she calmed down after a minute or so. "You came from the right side, but im curious how do you know about this passage?" There was zero percent chance that he got ahold of the marauders map and knew how to use it but there was fifty that he found it by accident. She watched him carefully, it was fun just to watch him being lost.
"So.... I bet if you had a wand right now, you would take this opportunity to try and curse me? Because im just wondering, I haven't harmed you right now and.... you get the point I hope." One thing about Serenity is that she asks the most random questions and the weirdest thing she asks the most random questions to her enemy when there was a higher risk of her being killed. Yet her temptation just can't be kept quiet.

Lucius crossed his arms over his chest and tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for Serenity to calm down. Of all days to miss a study meeting, today wasn't it. Alexis was going to be there. He was supposed to introduce her as his sister to his few close friends today. He couldn't be late for this. Quickly he turned on his heel and started walking to the right, turning back when she asked how he knew about the passageway. He saw no harm in telling her.
"My father told me about it. One of the few pieces of advice he gave me when I started Hogwarts was 'Boy, never be late for class.' So he wrote down a few shortcuts through the castle for me." Lucius pulled from his pocket an old piece of parchment. It was crumpled around the edges from being carried around so much, and the ink had faded over the past six years. It ever had a couple of tears in it. Without giving it a second look, he handed it to Serenity. "I memorized in first year. Consider it a thank you present. You probably need it more than I do anyway." With that, he turned and began to walk away, a bit slower now, knowing that he was giving away one of only two really valuable gifts his father had ever given him.

The paper was in her hands and she unfolded it and looked at it in every detail, just like the marauders map. Except it didn't have everything the marauders map did, but she smiled at it anyways. A gift from a Slytherin, and all she could say in her mind was wow. She glanced up into the passage where Lucius was walking through this time she knew she wasn't going to regret saying what she wanted to say, "thank you!" Serenity shouted loud enough for Lucius to hear though the portraits were covering their ears and to them she muttered, "sorry." This was something she would never forget in her life, how she helped a Slytherin, though it'd be nice to make friends with one and sadly with her that was more then impossible. With that she wondered how different would her life be was a Slytherin herself.
Before she walked away in her own direction as she did from the start she made a last look at where Lucius left and turned away with a smile on her face. "Perfect," she whispered to herself and this time there was no hint of sarcasm, she had really meant it. And so she made her exit from the passage in no time.
