Saturday morning. Well, verging on afternoon now. Hogwarts was quieter then usual and a peaceful atmosphere held it that way. That was until a fairly loud thud somewhere on the old corridors began echoing through the school as one of the historic cabinets on the second floor crashed to the ground and destroyed Saturday morning serenity. Filch, who was quick to arrive on the scene, appeared to be more concerned by the giggles erupting from the abused antique. You see, hiding inside it (or rather trapped inside now the blasted thing had landed on its doors) were two students about to receive an arguably well deserved pair of detentions from a bitter caretaker, after he had to physically flip the heavy thing over with the reluctant aid of three other passing students. The first to clamber out was a very pretty blonde girl in Hufflepuff robes, who was giggling and blushing furiously. One of the boys who had helped turn over the cupboard, the only Gryffindor of the three, now extended a hand to help the second student out – his fellow Gryffindor took it gratefully, and out climbed the one and only Sirius Black, face full of laughter at the old caretaker’s obvious anger.

“What? We were looking for Narnia!”

Sirius ran a hand casually through his dark hair, shaking off the dust and cobwebs he’d just been exposed to. His expression was as casual and haughty as ever but beneath that he was annoyed. Surprisingly it wasn’t because Filch was now screaming in his face, that simply made him laugh, instead it was the fact that he’d now be permanently locking or even getting rid of Sirius’ perfect make-out spot. Over the past 6 years he had used that with, not to brag, hundreds of different girls, he was sad to see it go. But then again he had a million and one other cosy hideaway spots marked out nicely on the Marauders Map so the thought didn’t bother him for long. Ignoring Filch’s rant he turned his grey eyes on the girl, winking at her, which just set her off giggling even more. That in turn made Filch even worse, and before either of them knew it they were sentenced to a weeks worth of detentions. Undefeated and unrepentant to the very end, Sirius simply shrugged and walked off on his own towards the stairs. The old guy was getting soft! He’d had much worse punishments then that in the past and this time it was most definitely worth it. Not just for the girl, mind you, but to really annoy that git.

Today was Hogsmeade weekend, the last one in fact, so naturally most of the school was empty. Realising this Sirius was tempted to take advantage of it and raid a few offices, but after a moments consideration he thought better of it. The resulting punishments he could deal with, but the reaction of his friend’s if he stood them up would not be as easy to brush off. Besides, how could he work real mischief without his partners in crime?

So, in search of aforementioned company, he made his way down the grounds and slipped (a bit later then most) through the gates. He felt the usual excitement to be back on the busy streets again, even if he had popped in by use of the map just two days before... But still, it was never the same as coming on an official weekend. He would miss this when they left. The collective atmosphere a street filled with students free of the castle for the first time in months was enough to cheer anyone up.

Likes:

• The Marauders. Sirius would quite simply do anything for his greatest friends.
  
• Women. He’s always enjoyed female company and is known to flirt with anything that moves. True he often backs off at the first hint of commitment but he certainly enjoys the build up.
  
• Winding people up. Just for a laugh really.
  
• Skipping class. But at the same time managing to come out top.
  
• Quidditch. Playing it, watching it. Not such a hero to the sport as James but a die hard fan nonetheless.
  

Dislikes:

• The Blacks. He hates his entire family and everything they stand for. Their opinions on some of the people he’s closest to, their connections with the dark side plus the rejection he faced after being sorted into the ‘wrong’ house all led to him leaving home the first chance he got.
  
• Pureblood-mania. For the same reasons as above.
  
• Commitment. He could be the most loyal friend in the world but when it comes to relationships he just can’t stand to be tied down. Sirius isn’t the type to cheat but at the same time wants to be able to have any woman he likes. So to avoid breaking commitment the easiest thing for him to do is to avoid commitment altogether. Which he certainly makes the effort to do.
  
• Dark Magic. He’s seen the damage it can do.
  
• Boredom and being alone. Sirius loves the constant availability of company at school or at James’ but hated the loneliness at Grimmauld. He likes his own space at times but is never sick of company, especially not that of his closest.
  

Fears: Losing anyone of his close friends or being accused of the same ideals as his family

Hobbies: Causing trouble/Flying Motorcycles/Chatting up girls/Anamagi/Dueling

Goals: To completely cut all ties with his family and the Pureblood community, get through Hogwarts alive and annoy the hell out of the so called noble and most ancient house of Black with everything he does.

General Personality Description:
Sirius has an arrogant side to him. Years of being told how brilliant he is, as a Black, did have their effect even if he chooses to deny it. True he doesn’t think of himself as superior because of his family name and blood line, far from it, but he certainly is haughty and overly confident in himself at times. This large ego can sometimes get on peoples nerves but in all honesty he’s far too conceited to care really. Both the arrogance he’s been brought up with and the rebellious streak which made him go against his family in the first place made a personality which is prone to trouble making and marauding. Normal rules do not apply to Sirius Black and the mere accusation that they do makes him want to break them.

When it comes to friends Sirius is as loyal as anyone could be, he would do anything for them. He is also charming and flirtatious with girls and pretty much loves female attention. Completely the opposite, when it comes to people he doesn’t like Sirius can be a completely different person. He loves to get on their nerves and provoke fights and although he doesn’t anger easily over just anything, threats on his friends or mentions of his family can sometimes tip him over the edge.

Appearance Description:
Undeniably attractive for starters. Sirius will tell you his looks are superior to anyone who has ever set foot in Hogwarts, which according to him is why everyone there, male or female, definitely wants a bit. Conceited attitude aside, he is very good looking. Although it is possible not everyone he knows fancies the pants off him, he certainly turns heads. Sirius has the typical look of the Black family and all the best genes. Dark hair, grey eyes and a well structured face with regal features.

He wears his hair however it looks when he gets out of bed, which happens to be infuriatingly perfect. Tousled and swept back off his face with several rebellious strands falling over his forehead just in his line of vision. That does not, however, mean that his eyes are any less noticeable. A piercing grey colour which always seem to be intently judging whomever they focus on. It is the same look that his pure-blooded relatives seem to have purposely perfected, one which combined with his handsome features gives the impression of haughty superiority. At the same time however his good friends and allies are often treated to a flash of perfect teeth and a grin that never fails to make the young third year girls blush.

Family: Parents Orion and Walburga Black. Cousins Bellatrix, Narcissa and Andromeda.. Brother Regulus Black.
Pets: Often questioned on why there is a large black dog in his room but strangely he is never around at the tie to witness this.

History: Sirius did not hate his early childhood completely, it just wasn’t enjoyable. He grew up in London as part of wealthy aristocracy and as the oldest he was frequently reminded of his own brilliance as well as being spoiled rotten and raised with certain beliefs. He was never overly close with his brother but they got on as much as siblings that age generally do. His cousins however always annoyed him, with the exception of Andromeda who seemed the most ordinary of the three sisters. It wasn’t until he was a little older, when he started to wonder about what they were telling him, that he became so unhappy and developed a real hatred for Grimmauld Place.

When he began to understand the politics of their opinions he realized his family might not be completely correct in their belief that so called ‘mud-bloods’ were beneath them. Of course, the moment he started to question it he saw sides of his family he had never witnessed before. His father was quick to anger and eager to put an end to Sirius’ doubts. Orion Black wanted a proper heir and so far Sirius had near enough rejected any talk of dark arts and pure-blood elitism. Walburga had her worries too; she was very proud of the Black family and had for years maintained the respect due to them amongst Wizard society she didn’t want him to throw that away. Sirius had to marry a nice pureblood girl, be as respected as his father and make her proud - but each day that looked less and less likely. Regulus became the new golden child and Sirius began to hate all three of them.

Reaching Hogwarts and being sorted into the ‘wrong’ house was the final straw for the Blacks. Summers at home became hellish. Sirius was being frequently reminded of how he was hindering the family reputation and when they weren’t harassing him about it they were ignoring him completely. In contrast his time spent within Hogwarts was the best time of his life. He was lucky enough to meet some of his greatest friends in Gryffindor, including James who became like a brother to him and the other Marauders, with whom he learnt to become an Anamagi and created the Marauders Map. Sirius eventually left home age sixteen after finishing 5th year and as a result was completely rejected by the entire family. Since then he has been living quite happily at the Potter’s house.
