Her fingertips tapped the last period onto the laptop before her. Savannah Finch-Fletchley looked exhausted. Her big brown eyes sported circles the size of coffee mugs beneath them. Speaking of coffee, her desktop was littered with empty Starbuck's cups. Van raised one of her delicate little hands to push the mess of brown curls back out of her eyes. She pushed the laptop back on the desk so its glare wouldn't blaze in her eyes as the darkness of the empty newsroom swallowed her up.

Savannah wore a pair of simple jeans, some mid-calf length chocolate brown boots, a chocolate brown, silk tank-top, and a cream colored scarf. Her brown wool coat hung over the back of her chair lazily. How Savannah wished she could be a coat suddenly. She wanted to go home and fall asleep on the couch her her dog, Katie. Oh, how she desired so desperately to just lay on her couch with a bowl of popcorn and some slippers and PJs. Stupid deadlines!

No, Savannah's article was due in about an hour and she needed to get it to the print room ASAP. She emailed it. That was the easiest way to get things done. She was too tired to move at this point. No, Savannah's day had become far too long. The insomnia was killing her. Really, how much coffee could a girl her size consume before she died? It was a dark looking future on the rise there.

Savannah stared at that almost distant glow of the laptop and then gave it a tired smirk. She'd done it again. It was impossible to hold her back. She just had everything, didn't she? Or she could pretend she did anyway. She turned her stare away from the glowing screen and reached down to the floor to shove her hand deep inside her over-sized purse. She pulled out a compact mirror. Her reflection looked dull, tired, completely lost to the world at that hour. Her eyeliner had smudged down her face and her hair seemed exceptionally frizzy. She shoved the compact back into her purse, obviously frustrated with the results of the test.

Instead, she pulled out a cell phone. No new messages graced her calling log. Nope, no one was out searching for her after another late night's work. Savannah dropped the phone on her desk and put a hand to her head, shielding her eyes. Why was she doing this to herself? What was wrong with her?

She felt the tears well up in her eyes and she wiped them away furiously. "Why me then? Why am I the one who goes home to nothing? Why am I the one who has to shut everyone out and make myself miserable!" She screamed at the empty office room. She knew no one would hear her. How else would she rise up out of her shell to scream it otherwise.

"Why him too? Why is it always an article about his work at the ministry? Is it some sort of sign? I get it, I fucked up! I should have called him back! Why does one night have to take over the rest of my life! I don't deserve to have to let it hold me back!" Savannah screamed louder. She tore at her hair, not hard enough to hurt herself but hard enough to feel something. That's all she wanted, to feel something. The tears streamed down her porcelain face, smearing her already destroyed makeup. She tried to wipe it away with her palm and only ended up getting makeup everywhere.

Savannah lay her head down on her desk. She hit it hard and felt a pang of disturbance in her wrist. She grabbed her wand from near the laptop and muttered some charm to erase the pain. She felt so stupid, so lonely, so lost. How could she let this be her life? What could she have done differently? She wished she could have everything and him at the same time. Why could she?

She swatted away just one more stray tear before giving in. The over-whelming desire to sleep finally beat out the desire to hate herself for messing everything up. So she slept. She didn't dream, she didn't hope, she didn't long or hate. She merely slept and let the numbness take over her mind, body, and soul. Savannah Rose Finch-Fletchley would undergo no more harm that night. It was her moment of freedom. She needed her freedom. So, she gave it to herself, just as she always had. She'd learned to fight for herself long ago and would never forget how.

General Personality Description:
Is there really a way to describe a mess like Savannah? She's much too hard to describe. Perhaps that's where it all begins then. Savannah is complicated. She's not complicated in that Mary-Sue, "My life is so awful!" sort of way, but she's complicated in a way that holds its head high and walks the world in a mask. Savannah can most easily be described as insecure and enterprising. She goes for her goals with a million hidden fears hanging over her head along the way.

She's always had that spunky, sarcastic sort of demeanor hanging over her. Savannah has always been known as the sweetest horrible person anyone could meet. That's simply how she comes off to others. He router personality is reflected as this manipulative, conniving, girl who doesn't care who she brings down along the way. She's also sweet and has a heart that's so hard to find. Only one person has truly peeked at her heart. Even in those fleeting glimpses at her true self, Savannah has curled up inside her shell and wrapped herself behind a million walls of protection.

Savannah is terrified of committing to anything other than her job. This is one thing that she's made very clear. She blocks others out and pushes friends and real relationships away like the plague. This is merely who Savannah is and she's been this way since her early years at Hogwarts.

Savannah is stubborn and hot-headed. Don't get her into an argument unless you know how to fight. She's intelligent and quick witted. She is fast enough to see things in time to react before they happen. She's sharp like that. Maybe not a genius, but she's got enough common sense on her shoulders to carry her through life with flying colors.

She's got a secretly compassionate side to her that very few ever see. Savannah can be the most loving, caring, inspired, beautiful person if she wants to be. She has so much trouble balancing herself out on that level though. She hides it like some secret treasure which she must guard with her life.

Savannah has a crafty, creative side to her personality. She loves to draw and paint and knit and write like crazy. When she puts her mind to it, she can be such a unique sort of woman. People don't see that in her though. People often see the little pieces Savannah shares over her true traits. Savannah guards her true self though. She's very protective. The only times that Savannah has ever felt passion towards anything, she guards and protects like few can imagine.

Savannah's most hidden side of her personality is also the most harmless. Part of her is very mellow. Part of her also applies very geeky tendencies. She read comic books and lets herself be addicted to muggle things like movies and music. She loves to go out for a long time just to drive around Muggle London. She takes the time to smell those roses. She knows how to love life even when it's constantly dragging her down.

She holds grudges. Savannah knows how to hate easily. She has that sort of attitude that can hold anything against anyone. She isn't afraid to talk dirty and play on the outside of the lines to get others in bad situations. Savannah is the type who belongs on the bad side of the tracks but has adapted some strange new desire for good. She masks the good by pretending she's still bad though. Savannah resembles far too many shades of gray.

She's very self-destructive. Even in her Hogwarts years, Savannah loved to go to parties. She experimented with drugs and smoking and alcohol like any teenager. She dared to do the things she wasn't supposed to. She was this danger magnet that meant her admirers would always have to play hero through school. In her adult years, she came to learn that heroes were rare so, she started learning to protect herself.

Savannah is also the type who becomes addicted to things easily. Whether it be her writing or her latest caffeine love, she's got addictions off the wazoo. She doesn't see them as bad things, just quirks to add to her hidden personality. Savannah has a lot of quirks and little personality traits that she hides and loves. That's where the mystery appeal is thrown in.

Savannah can be very shallow and materialistic to others. She's just very good at parading around as what they want to see. It's easier for people to hate her and her to not have to put up walls than for her to have to protect herself from being hurt. On the downside, Savannah secretly hates the feeling of being hated by others.

She loves being stereotypes and judged just so she can prove people wrong. If there's one thing Savannah is good at, she can test the limits of others and make them feel horrible about themselves. It's a dark gift, but Savannah's got it.

All in all, Vannah is hard to explain. These are only tid-bits of her greater personality. Perhaps that's all anyone will ever see though. Savannah can only let them see what she's willing to show. Will someone push her to show more? Only time can tell.
