&& lately it's so quiet in this stupid corner of the universe, will you join and fight all the sounds that we don't like???
She sat on the living room floor. She wore a pair of shorts and a white tank top. Her hair was pulled into a messy bun and little wisps of brown curls ran free. She had a bowl of popcorn on her lap and the remote to the television in hand. A stack of random movies ranging from romance to horror to classics was piled next to the television. The room was filled with all the essentials. She had movies, makeup, popcorn, candy, soda, coffee, waffles, ice cream, everything. This was what she and Skye did. They'd get together over break and this was how it went. So, Kyndrie sat on the floor in front of the tv with her knees pulled up to her chest and a sad look on her face. Why exactly was she sad? Oh, little Lupin had that affect on her those days. Sometimes, she just felt down for no reason.
Kyndrick was looking forward to Skye coming over. See, there were two weeks of holiday break. Kyndrick had spent the first between visits with her father and Remus. She'd had the discomfort of explaining to her father that she was pregnant with Remus Lupin's baby. Arnaud Laurent looked as if he'd shit a brick. That was the only way Kyndrie could describe the look on his face. He spent exactly and hour and 23 minutes screaming at her and telling her how stupid she was before Remus had shown up for dinner. Arnaud couldn't quite find it in him to scream at a stranger. Not only that, but Remus looked tired, older for his age. During this little meeting, Arnaud treated Remus like an adult who'd made a little mistake and he'd started to see his daughter in a new light. By the end of that night, Remus and Kyndrick had begun to look more like a couple and less like two stupid teenagers. It was strange how it had all worked out.
Now, Kyndrie was having a sleepover with Skye to ease the last of her holiday. Skye had known about the pregnancy since the moment Skyndrick had walked in the door to the Ravenclaw Common Room and rushed up to tell her. Kyndrie knew Skye would be better relief than anyone. Hell, Skye was like her sister. Kyndrick looked to her to help get through this stuff.
So, she'd gotten ready for this night. There were waffles, lots of waffles. Kyndrick had gone out and gotten strawberries and raspberries and chocolate and whipped cream to pile atop said waffles. She'd prepared for the wonders of her dear friend. Now though, now she was low on steam, on energy. That morning, she'd called Remus via telephone and apologized for her father's odd behavior. She did feel bad he'd had to deal with it. It was bad enough he had his own parents to deal with. Kyndrick was just glad it was over. So, now all she had to do was wait. She slipped a delicate hand into the bowl of popcorn and picked up one of the fluffy little shapes. I hope Skye remember the peanut butter. She thought as she awaited the ring of the doorbell.

It's Friday but there's nowhere to go Anywhere is cool but we're not going ho-ome We can do anything we wanna do It's all up to me and you
Schuyler was Apparated by Braidyn to Kyndrie's house, like every December. Her bags were transferred first, sitting lightly on the front steps just before Braidyn and Schuyler did. Braidyn landed with a graceful plop while Schuyler tripped over her bags, less graceful than her brother. He snickered and held out a hand.
"Thanks," she said, taking his hand and hoisting herself up. She hoped she didn't squish the peanut butter or the Oreos. Or the Twix, or the Twizzlers, or the Sour Patches, or the Skittles, or the M&M's, or the Snickers, or the multiple boxes of popcorn she brought, along with at least fifteen issues of VOGUE, ELLE, LUCKY, GLAMOUR, and SEVENTEEN each. She cracked her neck and hugged her brother. He was taller than her, having an advantage of at least ten inches. He was an Auror in training who had been a previously been a Quidditch Keeper. He was handsome, in his own little way. He was the typical hot-guy-jock build, with long hair pulled into a low ponytail that had been well kept and growing since his third year.
"See you next week, Sky." He hugged back. She buried her face in his abs. They pulled away, and he kissed her forehead.
"Bye." She waved after no one. He Apparated back home. Her brother had been a Quidditch God. Everyone loved him. He was a good brother, and an even better friend. He had a hard time saying no to Sky, because he practically raised her. It was love, but a different kind. A parental love. Everyone was upset, including her father and besides Sky, when he decided to be an Auror instead of a Professional Quidditch Player. That was a big fight. But that's for later. Right now she had a sleepover to go to. She picked up her bag and walked to the doorbell, pressing it traditionally with her thumb. Pregnancy was going to be fun.

As soon as the ring sounded through the large apartment, Kyn jumped up and didn't have to fake a smile. Skye was there and it was time for their typical sisterly randomosity to begin. She dropped the popcorn and a few flakes fell to the floor. Kyn ran down to the entryway and almost slipped on the shiny floors as she got to the door. She put her ear up real close.
"Is that my lover?" She asked jokingly before swinging it open. For all she knew, a Death Eater could be on the other side ready to avada kadavra her sorry butt, but Kyn would have gone down laughing and asking if they wanted some popcorn before the apparation home. Of course, it was her dear Skye and the sweet doll had brought ammunition for the fight ahead.
Her eyes glittered with the thrill of a wild night ahead. She instantly rushed up to hug her sister and kiss the girl on both cheeks. "Ha! It is my lover!" She laughed and grabbed Skye's hand to drag her into the apartment. She then realized they were leaving the fuel of fun on the damned porch. Kyndrie pulled out her wand and did a quick flick. She'd mastered wordless magic in sixth year and now that it was legal for her to do such things, she'd take endless advantage. The bags floated in the air and moved over to the entryway to land on the bottom stair.
"Okay, first on our agenda, where are the oreos and peanut butter? We'll need sugar to reek havoc." Kyn laughed. Plus, she was always hungry now. Not that she wasn't before. Despite being so thin and mildly anorexic looking, Kyndric Laurent was a major lover of food. Particularly food that was awful for her. She had a great metabolism and so did Skye as far as Kyn could remember. The two could eat someone out of house and home. It was a good thing they could afford to eat horridly. "Let the fun begin." Kyndrie giggled as she dragged her friend into the living room where the television played a random French tv show. Kyndrick didn't speak as much French as she should have considering she'd lived there since her travels slowed. But that wasn't a big deal.

"Of course it is!" Sky smiled, using a deep voice somewhat familiar to Remus's. As Kyndrie peered out she opened her arms and gave a bigger grin. At last, the girls night in of the century. Kyn was pregnant and Sky was the go-to gal, who was always there on other occasions, and will probably be there when she get married. She was a loyal friend, and thought that she was a damn good one at that.
"Ha! It is my lover!"
Schuyler was happily toted into the apartment of her best friend. It wasn't like she had left it, of course. It was a different color and the television was on the other side of the couch. She smiled at the unfamiliar familiar-ness of the place. She had missed it even though she'd been here the past summer. She hadn't enough time to take it all in before Kyndrie bombarded her with the big question.
"Okay, first on our agenda, where are the oreos and peanut butter? We'll need sugar to reek havoc."
She smirked and swung her large purse on the couch. Digging through it, she pulled out a great sum of things: her toiletry bag, including multitudes of raisers, five baby-naming books, three notebooks, music, Truth or Dare, and a box of M&M's before reaching the real goods. Jif and Oreos, a true treat. She sighed with ecstasy and dipped an Oreo in the Jif, popping it in her mouth in one swift movement. The aforementioned was distributed haphazardly on the floor and couch. She offered the food guiltily to Kyn with a full mouth, as if she was leaving her out of something. She hadn't got to hang out a lot with Kyn the past few weeks because of all the baby things, and normally she was with Remus Lupin. She had refused to even look at him. It may have been an accident, but it still happened, and she wasn't planning to forgive him any time soon. She swallowed her food and she froze, smelling something. It was like heaven in a handbasket, the oh-so farmiliar aroma of waffles. Her thoughts of Remus Lupin dropped suddenly, and only one thing was clear. "WAFFLES!!" she yelled and ran towards the plate that she had somehow passed over. Grabbing one, she stuffed it in her mouth, not caring that she had barely swallowed her Oreo. Waffles were her sin. She smiled as she licked her fingers. Kyn was one of the people she could trust with anything. She was the first one Kyn told when she found out she had a bun in the oven. True, she was a pig, but hey, Kyndrie would be more of one in the next six months.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
