Amoretta ran down towards the Greenhouses, ponytail streaming behind her. Ms. Sprout had decided today could be her day to scrub the greenhouse clean. The whole greenhouse. Luck her. Amy sighed, feeling bad, because today she had wanted to chill out with her best bud, Alice, but it looked like that wasn't possible. Or was it? She vaguely recalled the note she'd left in Ace's textbook that read;

Ace,
Have to clean the greenhouse (don't know why).
Meet me down there in an hour so we can still hang.

It was short, sweet, and to the point. Amoretta finally reached the greenhouse, ripping the note that was hanging on the door and recognized the Herbology professor's messy scrawl across the torn sheet of parchment. Why didn't they just use paper around here? Maybe they liked parchment? Focus, Amy, you need to clean! She thought sternly to herself, thankful that the usual headache had decided not to bother her today.

She bursted through the door a bit dramatically, almost knocking down a plant. Or two. Thank God for wands! She stood in the middle, acknowledging with a grimace the dirt the scattered the floors, busted pots, and other things that made the greenhouse look not-so-pretty. I sware, that woman probably made this mess just so I'd have to clean it!

[/color] Amoretta thought crossly to herself as she picked up a broom. The note Ms. Sprout had left her clearly stated, You are to use no magic when cleaning.[/color] Well, rawr to her.

"La la la la! I'm cleaning and I'm VERY bored! Oh whatever shall I...dooooo![/color] Amoretta sang in a purposeful pitchy voice, smirking the whole time as the broom swept back and forth. She laughed, dancing around as if nobody was watching. Actually, nobody really was watching, but still! Amy imagined she was dancing with her prince charming, that thought making it a heck lot easier to do the tedious work. She hoped Alice would be there soon.

nod&&smile dolly, nod&&smile...

Skip, dance, prance. Alice Logan wandered towards the greenhouses, taking her time to relax, smile, have fun. She watched the small crowds milling about. A group of shy looking first year Hufflepuffs was near the lake. Alice waved lightly as she danced about. She wore a knee length white sundress with little yellow flowers on it. Her feet were clad in little white ballet shoes. Her hair was left down. Ace rarely pulled it up since it was never too much an inconvenience.

She came closer and spotted the open door to a greenhouse, Amy would be there. She'd seen this coming, the messy greenhouse and the dancing Amoretta inside. Alice came to the door and peeked inside. "Amy dear, good morning." She beamed as she stepped inside and strolled towards one of the messy counters. She spotted a broom leaning against it and quickly grabbed it to help Amy out.

"I heard your lovely singing. Are you really so bored?" She laughed. She started sweeping along with her. The day ahead of them seemed light enough.

Amy continued the process of sweeping, keeping a big toothy grin plastered to her face because for no apparent reason she was quite happy. Quite happy indeed. Even though she had to spend a beautiful day cleaning didn't mean she had to be a bum. "Ace! I was hoping you'd come soon!" Amoretta skipped over to her and gave her a quick hug. She noted that the sundress was very cute and smiled. Amoretta laughed as her cheeks turned a lighter shade of red in a blush, "Well, I was but I quite doubt I'll be bored much longer, dear!" She called to Alice, almost tripping on a leg of a table.

"I think she tried to make it messy so I'd have to clean more." Amy said, quite sure of herself. She nodded, more to herself rather than Alice and giggled, feeling suddenly silly. She began dancing, swinging the broom back and forth, laughing the whole time. After a little bit, there was a rather large pile of dust, dirt, plants, and other unidentifiable things. She held a trashbag down and swept the the pile into it with a smile. Amy had even brough drinks for her and Alice! She skipped over to the tote back and 'magically' poofed up two bottles of Arizona iced teas.

"For the hard-working lady," Amoretta said in quite a serious voice, handing her best friend a tea. This was going to be a fun day.
