"You shouldn't hide that talent. You're so good ... I'm sure people would even pay to hear you play. I know I would." Wyatt smiled at her, thinking again how beautiful she looked. Then he chuckled as he thought about what would happen if someone came into the common room just then and saw the two sixth years sitting together by the fire. But he made no move to sit up or back away. Gossip didn't bother him.
"What do you want to do with your life?" he asked suddenly, wondering if she'd take singing seriously. "I'm going to take over my uncle's store one day. It's a bookstore-cafe and it's been in the family for four generations. If I didn't take over there I'd probably go into the Ministry. But I really can't picture myself working at a desk all day, so I might be on the accidental magic reversal squad or something."

steal a kiss in the moment
She listened to Wyatt speak and smiled, it was really sweet. "Thanks," Harmony said with a small shrug, "Music isn't exactly what everyone wants these days." Of coarse she was referring to the never-ending plea for Quidditch, safety from the Dark Lord, and all of that good stuff. Mo heard a chuckle and looked up, "Whatcha laughing about?" She asked innocently, and noticed with a smile that her pale finger was still tracing the swirlies on the carpet. It just seems like the right moment here, sitting in front of the fire. Harmony thought again with a small, barely audible sigh. What was Wyatt thinking about? She just wanted to read his thoughts, but perhaps every girl has felt that way about someone.
At the sudden question, Harmony almost chuckled because it was random. "Cool, I like reading and coffee, if I became a famous singer I could maybe play there sometime....if you'd have me." She could picture herself sitting on a wooden stool singing softly, the sound almost blending with the atmosphere of the cafe. She'd barely be heard unless one was listening. "I agree, sitting at a desk would be no fun, there's so much more in store for us in life. A magic reverse squad, eh? I would like to be an Auror." It was another one of her dreams to be an Auror, valiantly fighting off evil. Well maybe skip the valiant part, that was just in her head. Harmony ran a finger through her cherry red hair quickly, pushing it away from her eyes as she stared into Wyatt's.

"Of course I'd let you play there. You're a hell of a lot better than the old folks we've got coming in now, playing the banjo or harmonica." He laughed as he thought about all the bad musicians he'd heard over the years. He became serious again when she mentioned being an auror. "Too much violence for my liking," he said quietly. "I mean, I'm against You-Know-Who and all that, and I'd like to help in any way I can. But I don't think violence is the answer."
The was a moment of silence where he just stared into her eyes, and then he remembered her earlier question and turned away, to look at the fire. "I was laughing - earlier - because I was thinking what someone would think if they came out here and saw us like this. So close, sitting by the fire..." The smile returned to his face and he looked at her again. "Not that I mind. I'm quite enjoying myself tonight."

She laughed along with him and tried to imagine the banjo/harmonica players attempting to "fit in" and make a living. It was a rather hilarious thought because, well, she never imagined music to be like-like that. Sometimes people just ruined the good name of music and that is disturbing. "I can understand--before my mom died her relatives would visit and a few of them played banjos." Harmony shuddered, the horrible music filling her ears, it was appalling and she laughed at herself yet again because of the way her thought process was. Nobody would ever want to be in her mind.
As he became serious again, Mo looked up to him, her finger stopped tracing the carpet rather-- abruptly. "I wish violence wasn't the answer but it seems like the only way right now..." She thought of the many sleepless nights back at home when dad wasn't there, the nights she thought she could hear tapping on the window or maybe footsteps. Those were the worst nights and it wasn't fair that people had to be afraid living in their own home. Harmony listened to Wyatt answer, noting the way he looked into the fire but back at her eyes again, he wasn't embarressed and that made Mo feel wonderful. "Me too." She said finally, going over ever response that she could be able to say(this one fit most.) "To think it started out a rough night and now we're sitting by the fire perfectly content.." She said quietly, voice delicately splitting the silence, it was a blessing that she hadn't had to bear this night alone, thinking bad thoughts to herself.

"Yeah," Wyatt said, bringing himself up on one arm and leaning in to Harmony. "My lucky night, I guess," he said quietly before kissing her softly on the lips. 'Forget Natalie,' he told the little voice in his head, who was yelling loudly that he was doing the wrong thing. When he pulled away, he was still smiling. "I'm sorry, I - that probably wasn't the best idea."
Wyatt suddenly frowned and sat up properly, pushing himself away from Harmony as he did. He looked at the floor, at the fire, anywhere put at her. He was unaware that his hair had turned purple and his eyes had flashed green for a second. "You ... you probably have a boyfriend. Right?" he asked sadly, still avoiding her face."

her smile widened as he came closer but suddenly wondered what he was doing. her heart started accelerating, immesely, at his closeness. harmony closed her eyes, wanting this moment to last forever, and didn't think it would, or could get any better than this. but then her dream came true and suddenly he was kissing her. and is was..unexplainable. how could this be happening?!? before the thought process ended, so did the kiss. mo heard him apologize, and she smiled, well grinned, "wyatt...don't be. i-" but before she could finish he pulled away from her, farther away and was gazing around, everywhere but at her.
she noticed his hair, and smiled lightly, but it troubled her that he was...upset. harmony placed a small hand softly on his cheek, and understanding his disappointment, "no, wyatt, i don't. in fact, i've never.." she paused, blushing slightly, "i haven't loved someone like you." a thought occured to her, "but..i thought you like someone else? please, don't just feel bad for me." there she went again, harmony turned her head, feeling stupid and sad, and her hand droped to the floor.

He raised an eyebrow. "You don't? I mean, I thought that ... well, i heard you were going to the ball with Kavic Elliot and thought you were dating," Wyatt looked up at her again, the smile returning to his face. His hair had turned back to it's brown coloring.
"but..i thought you like someone else?"
"Nat." The word came out before it registered in his mind. He'd whispered it, so it was quite possible that Harmony hadn't heard - and he sincerely hoped she hadn't. But it was very quiet in the common room. Wyatt sighed and looked away again, trying to think of the best way to answer, to explain that he'd liked Natalie for a long time, but he was falling for Harmony fast. "I did - a lot - but she had her chance. You, on the other hand -" he looked at her again "- are free, beautiful, and most importantly, here." He grinned.

She laughed at his reaction, "No, we're just going as friends. I don't think I could ever like him." Harmony said with a smile, showing her teeth. Wyatt's hair turned back to its regular color and Harmony tilted her head, still not used to the fact that this boy's hair changed color so fast. I can't believe this is happening to me! Harmony thought to herself, trying her very best not to jump up and down and go scream 'I'm in love!' to the world. No. That just wouldn't do, because, frankly, she would get some very interesting responses.
Nat. Mo had heard it, he probably regretted saying it but it was too late. She'd heard. Harmony looked down, inwardly telling herself anything to make it better so she wouldn't go tear something apart. There followed a giant awkward moment of silence in which made her want to fall into a black hole. The back of her neck prickled slightly and she nervously ran a hand through her hair. As he spoke again, Harmony looked up expectantly, and that smile found its way back onto her face, lighting up her features. She was-well-speechless. Should she say thank you, or kiss him again or say something else? Unfortunately, the confused look had sprawled itself across her face and Harmony sighed and willed it to go away. "Sorry," She said, "I'm not really the best conversation maker and I'm not very good with words an-" She rambled on, muttering things while looking at him. [/color][/blockquote]

"Yeah, neither am I." Wyatt yawned as he looked at his wristwatch. "Wow, three-thirty," he said, just noticing how tired he was. "And we've got the end-of-term quiz on potions in the morning." He frowned, not wanting this night to end. Not wanting to leave her. But he knew his uncle would never let it go if he got bad grade on in best subject because he stayed up all night talking to a girl.
"I'm going to go back to bed," he said slowly, as if there was still some chance that he'd made a mistake on the day and it was actually the weekend. Accepting that there was no mistake, Wyatt sighed and stood up. He picked up his pillow and tucked it under his arm before he walked over to Harmony and kissed her, on the cheek this time. "I'll see you tomorrow," he promised. "Sweet dreams." Grinning again, he started the walk down the long corridor to his dorm, pretty sure that there was no way he'd have another nightmare after this amazing night.
