He smiled. "They certainly did."
He said dryly, trying very very hard not to focus on that fact that yes indeed this was a slow song. And he was very very close to a girl that he had liked in varying degrees over the last six years. It had died a little, when they became friends, but oh god who couldn't resist this. And then she was coming closer to say something in his ear. He couldn't even hear what she was saying, not really. damn alcohol. If he had been completely on top of himself, he would have been able to ignore the scent of her hair as she stood on tip-toe to get closer, feel her sweater graze up her side under his hand. It was all he could do to keep himself looking straight ahead and not turn toward her when she was talking in his ear... so close. And she was back down, thank god, but she was closer. Oh this was awkward. These were most definitely not friend thoughts. A friend can think another friend is attractive, you'd have to be blind not to call her attractive, but this was pushing another level altogether. damn alcohol. He looked into the crowd, forcing himself to chuckle dryly. "Well that's a relief." At least his voice didn't come out strangled. That was a relief. To distract himself, he scanned the crowd above Lily's head, trying to spot familiar faces and then place names, house, how he knew them, and what they last talked about. To be honest, the thought line went something like, 'Oh, that one ravenclaw whose in my... hm. Pretty red hair, oh right... whose in my...' It kinda worked, but in a moment of distraction, he found himself thinking ....She is so beautiful, and then immediately chastised himself. THAT was not a friend thought Kavic. He looked back into the crowd and then stopped moving when he saw Hayden Logan. Oh. Bugger. He scanned the crowd for Koran, trying to see if she saw him as well. He caught sight of her in a drunken clump of fifth years, swaying with their arms around their shoulders, and judging by her suddenly pale face, she had definitely spotted him. And then she was moving, ducking down under the fifth years arms and running as fast as she could through the crowd, keeping her head down. Kavic knew that she was hoping to escape into the forest and so he oh-so-casually stepped backwards right as she came barreling out of the dancers and slammed into his side. The impact knocked her down with a surprised 'Oof!' and she glared up at her brother. Stay, he mouthed, glaring pointedly at her. She shook her head violently, dark brown hair flying everywhere, as she got to her feet and tugged her skirt back so it hung properly. She turned on her heel and went back in to the dancers, slowly this time as so she didn't attract attention back to her. "Koran!" He hissed after her, but she ignored him. There were other ways to get out after all, and he couldn't be everywhere. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

It was almost empty in the common room and she felt lonely just sitting there and looking at the fireplace, so she decided to join in the party. There she was walking in a yellow hoodie with dark blue jeans and converse and her hair in a ponytail. Nothing fancy, it was a forest with a lot of dirt after all, why bother? Thing is, Serenity wouldn’t even go to the forest if it wasn’t for the loneliness. Now Serenity keeps on thinking it was a mistake, there is a reason why this forest is forbidden an due to her clumsiness and bad luck she could end up being killed somehow, as if that couldn’t get any better.
Her eyes scanned the area, there was a load of drunks that’s for sure, disgusting is all she could think. She saw people she knew and who weren’t drunk, Lily and Alice for sure and to her surprise Hayden was there. Though it seemed they were occupied and so she sat on a log all by her lonesome, again just like back in the common room, except for the fact there was people here. Serenity gazed at the bon fire for her amusement.

Haley sighed as she began walking through the forest with her wand lighting her way. An while ago, she'd been in bed, tossing and turning for well over two hours. Finally she gave up hope and began wondering where Nathan would be so late at night. 'Well, that's obvious,' she thought. Tonight was the night of Kyndrick Laurent's big party in the forest. Nathan couldn't pass up a party that big. Kyndrick and Haley didn't get along, that was no surprise. They were completely different, even in first-year. Come to think of it, Haley had never had much luck with her roommates until last year, when she got close to Peyton and Brooke.
After walking for what seemed like hours, Haley finally came to the clearing and put out the light from her wand. Looking around at all the students, she wasn't able to find Nathan, Peyton, Brooke, or even Lucas. Sighing again she tried to think of something fun to do. She didn't drink, so that was out. She wasn't in the mood to make a fool out of herself on the dance floor, so that was out too. The only thing left was to sit around and wait for her friends to arrive, so she made her way to a log by the bonfire and sat down beside Serenity. "Hey," she said, smiling at the younger girl.

Serenity was too distracted by the fire to notice a older girl was sitting beside her until she heard her say her greeting. At once Serenity jumped in surprise and slightly turned in her seat to face her. "Hi there.....," she started off but couldn't find any words to say in continuation but she gave her a smile. "Some party........ a bit boring if you ask me, but that's just me, I don't party at all." She stared at the fire again, sparks coming out in every direction. Hmmmmm... what to say, what to say...... oh! I didn't even introduce my self, that's right! "My name is Serenity, by the way, Serenity Faywood...."
I know i'm not good at conversations when I first meet a person, Though at least.... I have something to do and i'm not lonely anymore. This made her feel better, a lot better. Her attention was towards Hayden for now, what was he doing anyways? What about Alice? Serenity let out a small sigh. Most of all the questions she wants answered is, what exactly are they need to hide from her. She felt as if she wasn't trusted in that thought. Now she looked over at Lily, she was having fun dancing, A bit of a surprise really, but at least she is happy right now.
She focused her attention back to Haley, she was so distracted just now that she feared Haley said something and she didn't hear it. Serenity sat there shivering from the cold, even with the fire right in front of her was no help to her. "What was she even thinking putting up a party in the winter, why not spring when it's warmer! Then again it's my fault I didn't bring a jacket... or boots. Plus people are probably too drunk to realize they're cold..."

"I don't party much either. Or rather, I don't enjoy partying much," Haley added, trying to count exactly how many of Brooke's parties she'd attended now. "I'm Haley Scott. Nice to meet you." She left out her maiden name on purpose because, well, after saying the whole thing a few times, 'Haley James-Scott' got a little tiring.
She looked around again, still hoping to see her friends, but none appeared. Haley couldn't even see any of Nathan's Slytherin friends, so she figured they were all still in the dungeons. 'C'mon, Nate. I need to talk to you,' she silently pleaded with her husband. They hadn't seen each other much in the past month except for classes. His quidditch practices and her prefect duties kept getting in the way, but after a little chat she'd had with Madam Pomfrey earlier that day, she decided she really did need to speak to him.
"I'm a firm believer that thinking is far beyond Kyndrick's abilities," Haley said, a little harsher than she'd meant to sound, suddenly realizing that their apparent hostess was no where to be seen. 'Quite uncommon for the usual life of the party.' Slowly, she took out her wand and muttered a few words, casting a warming charm on herself and Serenity. "So, what are you doing here? I mean, it's obvious you're not having a good time, sitting here all alone. Don't you have friends around?"

Kissing your lips at midnightUnder the stars and moonlightBut I never thought we'd be this strongThe nights go on and on Why was she here?
This was the same question that kept repeating itself somewhere in the everpresent conscience of Gemma Daniels. She didn't like parties. Or underage drinking. This little forest 'get-together' that Kyndrick Laurent had planned had been all the student population spoke about for the past couple days. It was honestly a mystery as to why the professors had yet to crash this little bash that very second. Some of the students that had been gossiping weren't exactly models for quiet whisperings.
She didn't want to be here. She was a good kid. She didn't break the rules on a regular basis, and it was on the very odd occasion that she challenged a teacher, so what was she doing at a illicit forest party full of many very drunk teens? Well, she for one wasn't in the mood to party. She was only here because her friends had been real excited to go, and well, long story short, they'd talked Gemma into it. Gem had of course regretted agreeing as soon as she had said the word, but it was too late. By that time, her friends were already rushing to their dorms to help her find something to wear.
Her mix-and-matched outfit had come from various closets of Hufflepuff fifth years, but it was relatively casual, so at least she was comfortable on the physical aspect. Inside however, she was every bit as on edge and anxious to leave as ever. She placed an arm on her elbow, an nervous habit she'd caught onto by her stepdad, standing near the edge of the clearing. Her friends had already deposited themselves throughout the party, some of them already carrying a beer. She didn't want to go in, but she knew she sure as hell wasn't walking back up to the castle in the dark by herself, so taking a breath, she willed herself to take a couple steps forward after having spotted an empty couch to sit at.
Almost instantly, she was pushed sideways by a drunken seventh year male. She looked up at him, murmuring a quick 'sorry' under her breath even though she knew it really ought to be the idiot to apologize. He was probably too drunk anyway. Gemma continued on her way around the crowd towards the couch and plopped herself down stubbornly. What was she supposed to do now? A small, hopelessly conciense-free voice in the back of her head nudged her to go get a drink and relax a little. Have some fun. Gemma thought about listening. The sweet, and innocent Gemma Daniels shaking her head stiffly, while the carefree and funloving Gemma Malfoy urged her yes.

Lucius turned to look at Kavic and let out a low growl. He had no intentions of getting into another fight tonight, especially not with the wimpy Elliot boy, but he had every intention of scaring him half-to-death. He stopped when Evans addressed him, and he nodded at her once. Ever since the Yule Ball, he'd been trying to be civil with the Gryffindor to annoy Snape. But as the 'Half-Blood Prince' was no-show tonight, Lucius saw no reason to be head-over-heels over Lily.
He made to turn back to Amoretta, to tell her to stay a little longer, if only to annoy her friends, but a new student entering the clearing caught his eye. "Gemma?" he said quietly. Lucius watched her for a few minutes, seeing where she was going. He turned back to Amoretta, frowning. "Go play with your little friend, love. I've got more important things to do than entertain you." And with that, he stood up and glided through the crowds until he reached the couch Gemma was sitting on.
Sitting down on the seat beside her, all thoughts of drinking and partying were pushed way to the back of Lucius' mind. The three drinks he'd had earlier not nearly enough to get him drunk anyway. "What are you doing here?" he asked sternly. It sounded strange coming from his own mouth, like something his father might have said. That is, if his father ever cared if he was underage at a rowdy party.

Kissing your lips at midnightUnder the stars and moonlightBut I never thought we'd be this strongThe nights go on and on Everywhere she looked, there was some sort of rule being broken. It was a little head-spinning. Gemma had never really bothered exploring the many bad things she could do at Hogwarts, and here she was seeing them all. It seemed like a whole new door of possibilites was open to her all of a sudden, but it wasn't a door Gemma was anxious to enter. Quite the opposite really. Even though she wanted to enjoy herself a little bit, she doubted she'd ever let herself have that much fun. But, some of the people were her age, friends that she recognized from her classs. Infact, some were even younger. Hell, she could even spot her stepsister and brother in the crowd. Maybe Gemma was just a goody-two-shoes, couldn't even have a normal teenage experience without getting all cautious.
Her eyes darted up in time to see another figure joining her. Her half-brother, Lucius Malfoy. She made to give him a smile, but his expression stopped her. Was he mad? Gemma wondered what was bothering him. When he sat beside her and spoke though, she didn't need to ask. His tone said enough. She shrugged lightly, giving him a weak smile. 'Partying?' She said though her tone made it seem as though she was comtemplating the same question, which she was. What was she doing here? But then again, she never knew it would really bother him if she was here. Maybe he just knew that this wasn't her scene.
'I'm not really sure. I kind of got dragged along..' She answered, nodding her head towards her fellow Hufflepuff buddies who were currently already past their first bottle.

Amoretta faded out, going inside herself until she could hear or see nothing. All she could focus on was the never-ending throbbing that existed in her head. Amy was aware she was standing up and had her head in her hands. She opened her eyes and her vision was clouded and blurry, she was unable to see anywhere. What's happening? Amoretta thought to herself with confusion. She was aware of Lucius still there, and heard Lily say something to her but couldn't respond.
Vision blurry, she stumbled towards Serenity and Haley, two of her friends and stood near them. "Guys..I feel really sick. Could you help me back up?" Amy said quietly, instantly feeling bad because she didn't want to ruin their fun. But it seemed like they weren't big fans of parties anyway. She felt she would pass out if she was on her feet any longer and sat down cross-legged.
Brown eyes swept the clearing as she nervously looked around for no reason. I'm just getting some odd sickness or having a nice hormonal breakdown....so I need to chill. Amoretta thought to herself with a slight nod, which caused her migrane to pulse even stronger. This would be one of those 'I want my mommy!' moments, but there were two problems. Problem uno: Mommy wasn't here. Problem dos: She would sound like an idiot saying that.

Lucius looked at the Hufflepuffs, then back at Gemma. He sighed and nodded his head, wishing he hadn't let his friends push him into coming. "Why aren't you with them, then? Drinking, smoking, partying - not that I'm complaining...." Lucius ran a hand through his hair. Never in a million years did he ever expect to be sitting at a wild party trying his hardest to talk a girl out of doing anything illegal. After everything he'd done at parties, he should have been the spokesperson for alcohol. 'Well, maybe after Laurent,' he thought with a smirk.
"Look, I know this isn't really any of my business, I mean we barely know each other. But I know myself, and I know that I'd never be able to live with the guilt if I let you run off and get drunk and Merlin knows what else at a party I happen to be at. Especially this party." His eyes flashed momentarily to the table he'd been at minutes before, fighting with Damon.

why did i agree to come? harmony thought to herself with a sigh of expiration, because frankly, this was literally the last place mo wanted to be right now. she headed towards the party; easily found because of the firelight and buzz of conversation amongst the many people there. she sang a random tune to herself and then emerged into the crowded clearing. a lot of drama was already going on as they spoke.
she searched the clearing with her gaze for hayden, finally spotting him behind a cluster of people. her gaze followed his and she saw koran. harmony chuckled, knowing this would get interesting. she had nothing against koran, but not hayden either so she couldn't really pick sides on this one. harmony made her way towards hayden, random guys 'hitting' on her and attempting to dance with her. "um, no. get away from me." mo said to some fifth year when he asked her if she wanted to 'go'.
finally, harmony reached out her pale hand and tapped hayden on the shoulder. "hey, you look almost as lost as i do." mo said with a giggle, tugging the midnight blue covered hood off of her head. she ran a petite hand through her hair (force of habit) and glanced around to see who else was there. she saw serenity and turned to him again. "hayden, ren is sitting over there next to two other girls if you want to talk to her." truthfully, harmony would be bored to death if he went over there but she wanted to be nice. she thought for a moment again about that night with wyatt and the kiss. she still hadn't told hayden but if he was reading her thoughts right now he'd find out. crap..i need to remember not to think! harmony thought as she rolled her eyes at herself, which defidently looked ridiculous.

Suddenly she felt warmer then ever, thanks to Haley. "Thank you, I didn't think of that one." Serenity gave a quick glance at Kyndrick when Haley mentioned her. "Well if she couldn't think, then I doubt she would be in ravenclaw. Though if it wasn't for her intelligence, i'd bet she would either be in gryffindor or slytherin but never in hufflepuff, that's for sure, she isn't that loyal as far as I know her. Anyways she was probably to excited to start the party later in the year. So she probably wanted to start it as soon as possible." As she said that. she now felt she could a long essay on Kyndrick Laurent.
"Oh my friends are here, but they seem too occupied by other people to even talk to me. I wouldn't want to interrupt them anyways, that's all. Plus the common room was near empty and I was bored and lonely. So I didn't want to stay there any longer, how about you?" Now Serenity backfired the question to Haley.
As she stared around the area, she noticed a girl stumbling on her towards where Haley and Serenity. "Oh no," she whispered to herself after she hearf that the girl needed help getting up. Immediatly she rushed over to help the girl. She took the girls hands, wanting to lift her up and take her over to the long so the girl can sit. "Haley please help, I want to take her over to the log, She looks as if she is going to faint any moment."

"My friends aren't here. I don't think they are, anyway. I actually came to talk to my husband, but he doesn't appear to be here either. Very odd. They're all partiers," Haley noted absently, peering around the crowds again. She spotted Amoretta at the same time as Serenity, but her reflexes seemed to be off, as the younger girl reach Amy before her.
Quickly, she draped Amy's free arm over Haley's shoulder and the three girls began to make their way back to the log. "Are you all right?" she asked her friend worriedly.

Kissing your lips at midnightUnder the stars and moonlightBut I never thought we'd be this strongThe nights go on and on She said with a grin. Why wasn't she out there enjoying herself like any normal fifteen year old girl would do when surrounded by booze and good-looking guys? Gemma didn't have a good enough answer, even to herself. She knew she wanted too, but maybe she was just a little shy or something. She knew herself enough to know that she wasn't on the outgoing side of life. With another shrug, she replied again quietly. 'Just not in the mood I guess' She said, her eyes darting back. Lame response, and probably not altogether the most prominate one, but it wasn't like she was in the mood to explain her partying incapabilites to her half-brother right now. She didn't need to weird him away before they even really got to know each other. What he said next, brought a smile to Gemma's face. It was kind of comforting to know that he sort of cared that she wasn't running off as wild child. Looking out for her? Gemma was kind touched. 'That's kind of..' How to phrase this.. 'Sweet really. Thanks, but I'm not so sure that's gonna happen anyway. Nothing to worry about really.' She said lightly.[/ul]

Lucius chuckled and shook his head. "Yeah, don't say that too loudly, eh? I do have a reputation to maintain. I think doing something 'sweet' could potentially ruin it." He winked at her and laughed again. 'Merlin, this has been a weird night.' "Now, we have a few options here. We could sit here and do nothing while everyone has a good time. Or we could be out there, making them jealous with our wild dance moves."
Quickly, Lucius jumped up from the couch, taking Gemma's hand as he did so, and pulled her into the crowds of people dancing. Once he found a nice spot where they wouldn't be bothered too much by fellow dancers, he let go of her hand and began dancing stupidly to the fast song playing. Of course, Lucius' dancing skills were absolutely perfect when he wanted them to be, but tonight he intended to have some fun. And if that meant showing most of the school some really bad dance moves, so be it. 'They probably won't remember in the morning anyway,' he thought with a grin.
